Ride info

Our goFAST series are faster-paced early morning rides, designed to be a bit more challenging than our typical social rides.

Time

6:30 AM meet. 6:45 AM wheels roll sharp.

Start & finish

Thump Coffee WESTSIDE – 549 NW York Dr. Note there are multiple Thump locations in town, so make sure you’ve got the right one.

Route

Please download these routes to your navigation device of choice before the ride. This is especially important on a drop ride, where the likelihood of getting separated from the group is higher than a typical social ride.

Pace groups

Our goFAST series are faster-paced rides, designed to be a bit more challenging than our typical social rides. There is just one route and one pace group. Relative to our standard social ride pace groups, expect an A to A+ effort depending on who shows up and how spirited the group is feeling that morning.

This is a drop ride. That means we’ll do our best to stick together when it makes sense, but we won’t always regroup, and it’s possible (and totally okay!) to get dropped.

Code of Conduct

You reviewed the Code of Conduct when you signed up, but it’s worth a quick refresher — especially if it’s been a while. Here are the highlights:

  • Safety first. Follow the rules of the road and ride predictably.
  • Be aware of others. Slow down around pedestrians, call out hazards, and give a friendly heads-up when passing.
  • Help each other out. If someone has a mechanical, stop and lend a hand when you can.
  • Follow your ride leaders. They’re volunteers donating their time — listen to their calls and treat them with kindness.
  • Represent GGCC well. Be courteous to drivers, other trail users, and the businesses and neighborhoods we ride through.

FAQ

This ride is great for riders who:

  • Have been doing our A group / faster social rides and want more of a challenge
  • Are comfortable riding in a faster group
  • Can navigate independently if needed
  • Aren’t sure if they can hang on, but want to show up and try hard anyway!

We understand a fast “drop ride” can sound intimidating, even to strong and experienced riders. As much as we make space for a purely social, beginner-friendly, highly inclusive, 1000% party-pace vibe, we also make space for folks looking to push themselves — because riding with people who are stronger than you is exactly how you get faster. Showing up to a ride that’s a bit above your current level and hanging on as long as you can is a great way to build skill and speed.

📣 Repeat after me: There is absolutely nothing wrong with getting dropped. You are welcome and encouraged to show up to this ride a little bit afraid and unsure if you can keep up. You tried something hard — that will always be celebrated here!

Just bring the route, and worst case you finish solo — no shame, no big deal.

Fill out our quick sign-up form. It only takes a few minutes — we’ll collect some basic info, have you review the Code of Conduct, and ask you to sign our ride waiver.

Once you’re signed up, you’re in and ready to ride with us!

Yes — you must complete the sign-up form before joining any ride, no exceptions. It includes reviewing the Code of Conduct and signing the waiver, both of which are required.

Nope! GGCC is free to join. We’re a volunteer-run community, not a for-profit business.

GGCC is a cycling community for women (including trans women), femmes, non-binary people, and gender-expansive riders. You can learn more in our Code of Conduct.

If you’re not sure whether this space is for you, reach out to an organizer — we’re happy to help.

We have three main ride types:

  • Social rides — Our weekly Thursday evening rides. Beginner-friendly, all-levels, with multiple pace groups and a post-ride hangout.
  • goFAST rides — Weekly Tuesday morning drop rides. Intentionally challenging, designed to push your speed and fitness.
  • goFAR rides — Monthly Saturday adventure rides. Longer routes exploring areas outside of town, with different pace and distance options.

Check the Ride Schedule for the full calendar and details on all upcoming rides and club events.

Absolutely! Our social rides are specifically designed to be welcoming to beginners and new friends. We have multiple pace groups, and B Group is a chill, (mostly) no-drop option. Check out the schedule to find the next social ride.

  • No-drop means the group makes every effort to keep everyone together, with regular regroups so no one gets left behind.
  • Drop means the pace is faster and sustained — if you fall off the back, the group will continue. You’re expected to be self-sufficient and have the route on your device.

Note: Even on no-drop rides, we can’t 100% guarantee you won’t get separated from the group. Always come prepared.

Ride descriptions include pace and distance info for each group. If you’re unsure, start with B Group on a social ride — it’s the most relaxed option. You can always move up! And if you’re on the fence, we encourage you to challenge yourself. Ask in Slack if you want advice.

On social rides, ride leaders regroup regularly and do their best to keep everyone together, especially if you’re in the B group.

On goFAST rides, getting dropped is normal and expected. It’s part of the format.

Either way, always have the route downloaded on your device so you can navigate yourself back if needed.
